Themes and call for abstracts

The School addresses the issue of STI Indicators, which represents one of the key actions of PRIME. It is focused on five themes (R&D funding, Human resources, Higher Education, Bibliometrics and Webometrics, Innovation) relevant for and strictly linked to lines of research, and it uses findings of PRIME projects in order to outline recent developments of the field.

Call for participation

The School is devoted to PhD and post doc students, at any stage of their training period, coming from PRIME and from outside. Applicants will be selected on the basis of their research interest in the field of STI Indicators, as well as from the their CV by the scientific committee of the school. Up to 20 students will be admitted.

Participation fee:

•          PRIME students: 150 euros.
•          Non-PRIME students: 300 euros.

Call for abstracts

Applicants have the opportunity to submit an abstract either for an oral presentation or a poster presentation of the school. 6 full paper presentations will be allowed. Other papers positively judged will be accepted as poster presentations. Papers admitted for oral presentation can be considered also for inclusion in the 2008 PRIME Oslo Conference.

Abstract should contain the following information:

•          Name and affiliation of the author(s).
•          Selected theme.
•          Research subject and hypothesis.
•          Methodology.
•          Existing and expected results.
•          References.

Abstracts should not exceed 2 pages (6,000 signs). All abstracts will be peer-reviewed. All students attending the School must cover their travel and accommodation costs, as well as the cost of two dinners. Travel and accommodation costs of students coming from new EU Member countries, will be covered by the School (until 5 students maximum) on the basis of the evaluation of the applications.

Submission and deadlines:

Application for participation have to be submitted electronically to c.spaziani@ceris.cnr.it until 21st September 2007 using the application form available on the website.

Answer on acceptance will be given not later than October 1st 2007. Papers or posters are due for the 1st November 2007.
